When a child is diagnosed with cancer, it affects a family’s whole way of life. And siblings can sometimes feel lost in the shuffle of balancing new schedules, maintaining school work, and adjusting to times of separation during hospital stays — all while trying not to worry and do what they can to help.
That is why Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada spent time throughout the month of April sharing their stories. By highlighting the different roles that siblings fill during the cancer journey, Candlelighters was able to emphasize the fact that no child should face cancer alone, including brothers and sisters. These inspiring stories also revealed how important it is to provide supportive services to the whole family.
To help increase funds that support Candlelighters programming that benefits the entire family, our team agreed to match all monetary donations during their Spring Sibling Appeal — dollar for dollar!
